AMCHAM Myanmar, together with AGS Myanmar, is hosting the latest security update in Myanmar on March 26.

Danny Kyaw, Executive Director of AMCHAM Myanmar, will be providing an overview of AMCHAM Myanmar, followed by our expert conflict & security speaker, our very own President of AMCHAM Myanmar and Managing Director of AGS Myanmar, Adam Castillo, who will be providing an overview about the latest developments in Myanmar's on-going conflict as well as the security implications on businesses still operating in the market.

Please note that this briefing is intended towards AMCHAM Asia Pacific members. The briefing is an introductory session designed to provide a basic comprehensive overview of Myanmar.

Danny Kyaw is a dynamic business consultant with over thirteen years of experience in international advisory, government relations, supporting strategic business initiatives and developing international business partnerships. He specializes in business development and building positive relationships with key stakeholders and organizations in Myanmar.

He previously worked at PwC in Myanmar where he led multiple international development projects in various sectors to prepare the market for adoption of international standards. He has also worked at the Australian Trade & Investment Commission (Austrade) at the Australian Embassy in Yangon promoting commercial ties between Myanmar and Australia across all sectors. At Austrade, he organized a variety of high-level delegations, trade missions, seminars, and events linking international business to valuable opportunities in the Myanmar market where Australian exports to Myanmar are valued at $170+ million annually. He has a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Curtin University in Australia.

Danny serves as the Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar where he helps U.S. business connect with valuable opportunities in Myanmar and advocates on behalf of AMCHAM members to promote economic prosperity for communities within Myanmar and the U.S. He oversees all operational and programmatic aspects of AMCHAM.

For over a decade, Adam Castillo has worked at the intersection of investment and security as Myanmar's top expert. Adam founded AGS Myanmar in 2013, Myanmar’s leading security risk management company. Adam employs over 1300 Myanmar nationals servicing international clients’ operations across Myanmar.

A former United States Marine Corps (USMC) commissioned officer and a Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). Adam has served on the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar’s (AMCHAM) Board of Governors since 2020. In 2023, he was elected President the Board of Governors (AMCHAM), while serving as Vice-President from 2021-2023.

In 2021, he was also the winner of the Rising Star of the Year Award category at the 2020 APAC Chamber of Commerce Awards. He was selected by White Page International for their 100 Inspirational Leaders of Asia award in 2022 as well as Asia One Media’s Top 40 Most Influential Young Leaders in Asia 2023. He also currently serves on the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Steering Committee for the US Embassy Rangoon since 2018.

Adam did his undergraduate at the University of California, Riverside and later received graduate degrees from Norwich University with a Master of Arts in International Relations – Terrorism & Conflict and a Master of Business Administration in 2016. Adam was born in California, USA and is currently based in Yangon Myanmar.
