The American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar) was established on October 31, 2013. To date, more than 170 companies employing over 20,000 Myanmar nationals have joined the Chamber. These companies represent a diverse collection of industries and nationalities, with a common goal to expand American business and promote the highest business standards in Myanmar.

Adam Castillo

Managing Director of Atalian Global Services Myanmar


Adam founded a security company in Myanmar in 2013. He then partnered with ATALIAN Global Services – a global multi-national - in 2016. He is a former US Marine Corps Officer with combat operational experience in Afghanistan and operational experience in Korea. He has a masters in international relations with a focus on international terrorism. Based in Myanmar since 2013, he currently serves on the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Steering Committee since its inception in 2018. He is currently serving on the Board of Governors at AMCHAM Myanmar as Vice President.

Jack Mullan

CEO of Barber Mullan and Associates Pte. Ltd.


Jack co-founded BM&A in 2012. Prior to this, he established an emerging market consultancy with a focus on Vietnam and Myanmar which merged into BM&A. In his role as CEO, Jack oversees BM&A's projects across Southeast Asia, including due diligence, political risk summaries, intellectual property assignments, threat assessments and evacuation procedures. Jack currently sits on US Embassy Rangoon- Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) steering committee and has completed over 300 projects in Myanmar, supporting clients in FMCG, telecommunications and extractives amongst others. Jack's role as a crisis responder has seen him support and lead international clients through crises in Myanmar over the past five years.


Jack holds a BA in International Relations and an MSc in Risk, Crisis and Disaster Management. He speaks Spanish, French, Malay and Indonesian. Jack is married with one son.

Romain Caillaud

Principal at SIPA Partners



Romain Caillaud is a risk and reputation management consultant with more than a decade of experience providing public affairs and strategic intelligence services to corporations, law firms and nonprofits in Japan and Southeast Asia. Currently located in Japan, Romain was based prior in Singapore and in Myanmar, and is originally from France. He is the principal of Tokyo-based advisory firm SIPA Partners, an associate fellow in the Myanmar Studies Programme at Singapore's think tank ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute, and a member of the Japan Committee of the Temple University Law School Compliance Advisory Board. Romain first worked in Myanmar in 2006 as an intern analyst at the French Embassy. He returned from 2008 to 2015, when he notably established the Myanmar office of a Southeast Asia-focused public affairs firm, acted as president of the French-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce, and obtained a certificate in Burmese language at Yangon University of Foreign Languages.

Moe Thuzar

Co-coordinator of the Myanmar Studies Programme


Ms Moe Thuzar is an ISEAS Fellow, and co-coordinator of the Myanmar Studies Programme. She was previously a lead researcher at the ASEAN Studies Centre at ISEAS. She joined ISEAS in 2008, after ten years at the ASEAN Secretariat, heading the Human Development Unit in her last three years there. Moe has contributed to several compendia/volumes on ASEAN, and on Myanmar. She was also part of the ASEAN Studies Centre team engaging with Myanmar for its 2014 ASEAN Chairmanship. A former diplomat, Moe is researching Burma's Cold War external relations (1948-1988) for her PhD dissertation.
