Event Details
Over a year of political and economic uncertainty in Myanmar has brought about many legal concerns for the trade and investment climate. There have been a variety of legal implications since the outset of the coup for businesses both foreign and domestic. New legislation has been introduced, new existing legislation has been amended; the US, the UK, and the EU have introduced sanctions on a rolling basis posing additional due diligence measures that need to be adopted into any company's operational calculus.
Please join our expert speakers on the current state of Myanmar's legal landscape, Mr. Chester Toh, Dr. Min Thein, Mr. Alroy Chan and Ma Khine Khine Zin of Rajah & Tann. They will discuss corporate governance, due diligence, cyberlaw-related issues, obligations of international companies operating in Myanmar, and the impacts on businesses operating in Myanmar.
They will share legal perspectives and key takeaways concerning the current legal operating environment in Myanmar as we look back on over one year of significant shifts in the current business landscape.
