The American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar (AMCHAM Myanmar) was established on October 31, 2013. To date, more than 170 companies employing over 20,000 Myanmar nationals have joined the Chamber. These companies represent a diverse collection of industries and nationalities, with a common goal to expand American business and promote the highest business standards in Myanmar.

With the latest U.S. imposed of sanctions on Myanmar, please join AMCHAM Myanmar on Tuesday November 7, 9:30am MMT, as our AMCHAM President, Adam Castillo and Senior Vice President at Kharon, Joshua Shrager, will provide an overview on the latest sanctions development in Myanmar and the impact on businesses operating in the country. There will be Q+A at the end of the panel.

Main Speakers

Adam Castillo

Managing Director of Atalian Global Services Myanmar


Adam founded a security company in Myanmar in 2013. He then partnered with ATALIAN Global Services – a global multi-national - in 2016. He is a former US Marine Corps Officer with combat operational experience in Afghanistan and operational experience in Korea. He has a masters in international relations with a focus on international terrorism. Based in Myanmar since 2013, he currently serves on the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Steering Committee since its inception in 2018. He is currently serving on the Board of Governors at AMCHAM Myanmar as President.

Joshua Shrager

Senior Vice President at Kharon


Josh works with Kharon's key clients - including top tier financial institutions and global corporations - on strategic initiatives, while also overseeing Kharon's thought leadership and training programs. Prior to Kharon, Josh was a director at the artificial intelligence data analytics firm Quid. Previously, Josh served in the U.S. Department of the Treasury as the Deputy Financial Attaché to Saudi Arabia, the director of the Iraq Threat Finance Cell in Baghdad, as well as various roles in Washington, DC. He also was a U.S. Department of State Foreign Service Officer, with postings in Mexico and The Gambia. Josh also is an adjunct professor at American University's School of International Service. Josh speaks regularly at sanctions, technology, and law enforcement conferences throughout the world.
